Meet the founder
and Directors

Dr. Steven L. Smith
Founder - President
A native of Indiana, Dr. Steven Smith has spent most of his life in education and ministry leadership positions. Upon high school graduation he went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. where he earned his B.A in Biblical studies and a minor in ancient languages. He then attended Calvary Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA. where he earned his Masters of Divinity degree. After completing his M. Div. he planted a church in Rock Hill, S.C. while he worked on his Doctor of Ministry degree. Over two years later he moved to northern Indiana where he pastored for the next eleven years. During this time he earned his D.Min. degree which focused on the topic of the family. He was then asked to help form Indiana Baptist Seminary in Greenwood, IN for which he left his position as senior pastor and accepted the position of assistant Dean of the Seminary. Later he became the Dean of the Seminary. During this time he earned his PhD degree concentrating on higher education with a cognate in the ancient Biblical languages. Dr. Smith has had the opportunity to teach Greek and Hebrew in a Seminary in Kenya during the fall of 2013. He is the founder and president of Digging Deep Inc. and currently serves with his Digging Deep team translating ancient inscriptions and religious symbols. He is the founder and director of The Early Church Research Institute. ©

Barry Wallis
Executive Director
Barry brings to our team eighteen years of very successful management experience in the commercial distribution sector and over twenty years of experience in developing non-profit organizations. One of his many strengths is in strategic development of the organization.
Barry is currently employed as General Manager of a commercial distribution group. He is a proven leader formulating and executing strategies aligning missions and operations, which provide corporate stability and sustained profitability. He has the ability to meet competitive challenges in restructuring organizations to maximize effectiveness and impact.
Barry also serves as the Chair-Elect of the Fort Worth Library Advisory Board as well as serving as a board member for the Friends of the Library Foundation. He is involved in a variety of civic and community affairs as he serves on the Remington Point Board of Directors. He has over two decades of experience in strategic and tactical planning for city and community events involving religious, educational, and instructional organizations developing successful projects.

Kyle Densmore
Director
Kyle brings to our team over 14 years of ministry experience. Having served in virtually every aspect of ministry in the church which he now pastors, Kyle provides consistent experience in a stable ministry. Problem solving and conflict resolution are among his many strengths, which he shares with our ministry.
His passion for an intimate relationship with God, to preach and teach the Word of God, and mentor people who share the same passion gives godly focus to the ministry of Digging Deep.
Kyle currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Temple in Fort Worth Texas. He is the loving husband of his beautiful wife Richelle and the proud father of his two daughters.
