Can Rachel be Reborn?  Part II

Yes Rachel will be reborn!  Of course she will not be reborn in the sense of reincarnation.  God is very clear that He is not finished with Rachel, the matriarch of Israel.  She is a very integral part of prophecy. Her spirit is still alive as she cries for her children.  Her tomb is a memorial of her heart and character.

I realize that there are numerous interpretations of prophetic passages but I feel the Bible is very clear about what is going to happen.  Robert Mawire is the only person I know to ever address Isaiah 58:12.  “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places:  thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”  What are the old waste places?  The original Hebrew refers to the ancient ruins. What ancient ruins?  The ancient ruins of many generations or the ancient ruins of the ancestors of God’s people.  These are the ancient holy places.

Why would the ancient holy sites be rebuilt?  We have been taught that archaeology is not important to our faith.  Archaeology was very important to the Early Church.  The early believers protected and kept the ancient holy sites alive.  They could see the evidence of the mighty acts God did through His people.  The patriarchs of the faith left their mark on the world and the places where God performed mighty feats were kept alive.  Constantine began a movement to rid the world of the holy sites. This movement has continued throughout the ages until today.  Hitler  tried to finish the destruction of the ruins of the holy sites.  These men wanted to get rid of the Bible so they tried to destroy any evidence of the Bible.

The ancient holy sites will be uncovered and be rebuilt.  This includes Rachel’s tomb.  God says this will happen in the end times.  The key to Isaiah 58:12 is the last phrase, which says “and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.”  Which breach will the ancient holy sites be used to reconcile?  This clearly is a reference to the breach between God’s children.  Since the early centuries there has been a growing chasm between the Jewish believers and the Gentile believers.  God’s children are divided.  Paul clearly stated that there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile (Romans 10:12).  He says we are one.  In the end times all of God’s children will come together in unity.

How do we know that Rachel’s tomb will be rebuilt?  Jeremiah 31:15 is a well known prophecy concerning Rachel.  “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.”  This verse was fulfilled at the slaughter of the innocents.  This happened when Herod found out that the Messiah had been born in Bethlehem so he sent men to kill all the infant boys 2 years old and under.  Matthew 2:17 indicates that the slaughter of the innocents in Bethlehem was the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:15.

What did Rachel have to do with the slaughter of the innocents?  This is literally where it happened.  Rachel was buried in Bethlehem.  The slaughter of the innocents happened in Bethlehem.  The slaughter of the innocents happened where Rachel’s tomb is.  But the prophecy does not stop there.

The next verse has not been fulfilled yet.  Jeremiah 31:16 is going to be fulfilled in the end times.  God tells Rachel, “Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears; for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.”  God’s children will be gathered together in Israel.  What does Rachel have to do with the fulfillment of this prophecy?  Rachel’s involvement in the regathering of God’s children is the same as the fulfillment of the prophecy of verse 15.  Rachel’s tomb will be used to bring all of God’s children together in end times.  Verse 10 says that God will gather His children together.  If we believing Gentiles are Jews (grafted in Jews) as Paul says we are, then we will be part of the group of God’s children that are gathered together in the end times.

All of this will happen because God says so.  The ancient holy sites will be uncovered.  The evidence of the Bible will be so clear that everyone in the world will be faced with a decision to follow God or follow the Antichrist.

When we see the real ancient holy sites discovered we will know that the end of time is near.
