Journey of Discovery of the Early Church
Considering the fact that the church has the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of the Word of God, I can’t help but wonder why it seems so difficult to build the Church of Christ. As I look at the early church I see a community that was so powerful even the Roman government themselves could not stop it. In light of these truths I have to ask myself the question, “What were they doing that we are not doing in our churches today? Why do they seem to have had power that we lack in our churches today?”
Evidence of the early church is found in many places in Israel. We have studied this evidence in conjunction with history and related artifacts. Based on the evidence we have seen and studied we believe the dynamics that made the early church powerful are evident in the sites we see.
I would like to challenge you to join me on my journey of discovery of the early church. We will be looking at ancient church sites, sites that relate to the early church and artifacts in the museums in Jerusalem that relate to the early church. What you find might change the way you view the Church. Do you have the courage to challenge your faith with the evidence?
