A native of Indiana, Dr. Steven Smith has spent most of his life in education and ministry leadership positions.  Upon high school graduation he went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. where he earned his B.A in Biblical studies and a minor in ancient languages.  He then attended Calvary Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA. where he earned his Masters of Divinity degree. After completing his M. Div. he planted a church in Rock Hill, S.C. while he worked on his Doctor of Ministry degree.  Over two years later he moved to northern Indiana where he pastored for the next eleven years.  During this time he earned his D.Min. degree which focused on the topic of the family.  He was then asked to help form Indiana Baptist Seminary in Greenwood, IN for which he left his position as senior pastor and accepted the position of assistant Dean of the Seminary.  Later he became the Dean of the Seminary.  During this time he earned his PhD degree concentrating on higher education with a cognate in the ancient Biblical languages.  Dr. Smith has had the opportunity to teach Greek and Hebrew in a seminary in Kenya during the fall of 2013 and currently serves with his Digging Deep Ministry team translating ancient inscriptions and religious symbols.  He is the founder and director of The Early Church Research Institute. ©
